Spring, 2017: Legend has it that USDA Livestock Inspector Perri Perrault put a bullet in her partner's head after he got himself gored by a goat. Her new partner, Gilbert Montoya, has acquired the ability to touch animals and determine whether they are ill while insects and produce hector him from the sidelines. It's a gift he received from the bite of a poisonous centipede. Together, they must face newly sworn-in Secretary of Agriculture, Lola Heet, who is bound and determined to literally own the entire department. Meanwhile, Field Director Jim Angerer can't decide whether to fight Heet's corruption and save his beloved USDA, or join her in a lucrative, unholy quest to privatize government. What's a good civil servant to do when, in just a few short months, a new administration threatens to reduce a fully-functioning branch of the federal government to a smoldering wreck?
