Miss Fiona Fairweather, betrothed to Roger Ranly since birth, has spent her youth at the side of her scandalous aunt, Tilly Fitzhugh. Armed with many accomplishments of the Highlands, Fiona is able to heal a cow, hit a bull's eye with a bow and arrow and gallop upon her pony over the mountaintops. But now Tilly has passed away, and Fiona must go to London to wed the one she is promised to. Her path seems clear. She will take her place as Lady Ranly, sit in drawing rooms sipping tea and gossiping with the ladies of the ton.
