Amplifying Impact: Unlocking Innovation, Equity, and Capacity in Nonprofits is the story of more than 12.5 million employees, and almost $700 billion that pass through the nonprofit sector, a distinctive and essential part of the social fabric of the United States.
Author Harrison Holcomb will surprise readers as he reimagines the modern nonprofit sector, digging deeply in an effort to understand what might motivate donors, nonprofit leaders, and policymakers to behave in particular ways, with the goal of finding common ground and workable solutions.
You'll learn how religious communities, mutual support networks for immigrants, and gilded age grandees all contributed to the emergence of the modern nonprofit sector. Amplifying Impact also explores the distorting, damaging effect that even the most well-intentioned of ultra-rich donors can have on nonprofits they aim to help.
With stories and insights from the RAND Corporation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Johns Hopkins University, Amplifying Impact serves as a resource for anyone who has ever worked in a nonprofit, donated time or money to a nonprofit, or benefitted from their services.
