I really felt like I knew the three women - I felt all their highs and lows and was sad when it came to an end. A brilliant debut! Three women on the brink of a major crossroads, fighting societal expectation and the narrow confines of their gender role... I LOVED this brilliant book which reminds us it's never too late to be who we want to be. Love & Other Dramas is a testament to the power of community and (unsurprisingly) love, as well as the importance of embracing messiness before you can arrive at true happiness. To say that I laughed and cried and was overwhelmed by this delight of a book might sound clichéd but is the absolute truth. A funny and relatable story of three women trying to discover who they really are in a world that would prefer them to fit in with expectations. Love & Other Dramas is a beautifully written, warm and insightful novel about three women, each dealing with the secrets of their past and the challenges of their present.
