Product management isn't just about Jira tickets and A/B tests; it's about people, politics, and momentum. Most Product Managers land a new role and immediately dive into the backlog, hoping their hard work will be noticed. But while you're busy refining tickets, the real game is being played elsewhere. To truly succeed, you need to master the "hidden curriculum"-the social capital, internal reputation, and strategic positioning that traditional onboarding never covers. All Over It is your field guide to navigating the first 90 days and beyond. This isn't a generic "how-to" on product strategy; it's a candid, actionable roadmap for anyone who wants to hit the ground running and set themselves up for long-term leadership. Written by a Senior Product Manager at Google with over a decade of experience in the tech and fintech industries, this book skips the fluff to focus on high-leverage actions that actually move the needle on your career.
What You Will Discover: • Carving Out Your Territory: How to define your scope so everyone knows exactly where you operate and why you're indispensable. • Creating Your "Projection": Techniques to establish an internal reputation that precedes you in every meeting. • Building Social Capital: The art of trading favors and building the cross-functional alliances necessary to get things done. • The "Unofficial" Launch Checklist: How to navigate the people and politics of a launch, far beyond the technical requirements. • Managing Your Manager: Strategic ways to align with your leadership and ensure you're focused on the priorities that matter most.
Whether you are an early-career PM looking to make a name for yourself or a mid-career veteran transitioning into a new organization, All Over It provides the tools to reduce overwhelm and start fast. Don't just join a new team-own your role from day one.
