Four years after her marriage with James had ended, Katrina Evans was beginning to pick up the pieces of her life with her small daughter, Darcy. Southern California beaches are a good place to cleanse the soul and get a fresh start, meet new people and begin again. There was her good friend, Christian Matthews, who wanted more of a relationship with her. Chris had entanglements of his own, demons to deal with, but he was the anchor for her soul. Then there was the surprise she found in the dazzling Vincent Bohannon, artist, poet and musician, who literally rocked her world. But out of the furnace into an inferno, with her small child taking center stage, Kat became aware that nothing in her world is as it seems. Her life of naivete is unraveled, and then shattered, by the damaged souls of the love interests in her life, competing for her affections at any cost. Instead of closing a door on her old life, the demons of her past are here to torment her, and Kat finds herself embroiled in a bitter battle for custody of her daughter, and ultimately for her very life.
