Against the Current invites readers into a courageous journey of separating authentic Christian faith from the cultural forces that have shaped American life. Blending history, theology, and pastoral honesty, the book traces how well-intentioned believers drifted from the River of Life and were carried into political identity, fear, and cultural loyalty. Instead of condemning or retreating, it offers a hopeful way forward through a return to the cross-shaped, countercultural way of Jesus. Through vivid storytelling and practical spiritual rhythms, this book helps readers resist the pull of polarization, recover a Jesus-first identity, and rediscover a hopeful and Kingdom-centered witness in a divided world.Distinctives & Key Benefits- A clear, relatable metaphor (River vs. Current) that reframes Christian political engagement- Honest but unifying approach that avoids partisanship- A sweeping, accessible narrative of American church history- Practical spiritual habits that form Christians beyond political noise
- A pastoral call to repentance, unity, and renewal in a divided age
What Others Say About This Book:Tyler Sansom has done the impossible. He has written a book that could actually heal the political divide with a sensible and biblical overview of not only how America began, but more importantly, how it began to fracture under the weight of Godly deviation and self-hubris. Can we truly be ONE Nation under God, again? Mr. Sansom makes a great run at the question in this self-reflective treatise. Beware, however, like him, you might just find yourself on the side opposite the one you think you're on! Great news, Sansom offers a tangible way to return to the side of righteousness.
