How does a video on YouTube go viral? What would it be like to experience that? Or, what would it be like become a YouTube and internet sensation? Well, in 'adventures in cyberland', not only is this modern-day new phenomenon experienced by the reader, but also shows them the power of group creativity and working together as a team, regardless of what background and worldviews each roommate comes from.
And with this established in the first part of the book, the second half of the book progresses this theme even further, as the roommates continue to push their creative and even comical boundaries on everything from 'going homeless successfully' - to trading penny stocks to supplement incomes - to coming up with a novel system where overpaid professional athletes' salaries go back to the fans, in the stands. All the while a new paradigm shift to the internet itself is introduced - a Web 3.0 VR application called 'Planets of Humanity', an entirely new and novel way to explore virtual space and Space itself, which signals endless future growth to the roommate's new cyber adventures, if they want it.
And in the end, all this leads to a final defining moment for the roommates, who find themselves on the brink of losing everything they have made, right when they found everything...in each other...
