Addie's Legacy, is a glimpse into the late 1800's as seen first from her eyes as a civil war orphan and then through her maturing vision. Challenges in a New York orphanage, a disturbed marriage as a young bride, and her break to become a woman in control of her own destiny fill the pages with both tenderness and excitement.
Addie's story can be told only by me, her granddaughter. Her own daughter knew little of her outrageous adventures. Yet, through genealogical research and travel to the places where she lived I became part of her life. I'm sorry to never have met the red-headed woman who gave me the strength and fortitude to live mine to the fullest.
