Ace Fletcher is on the run. He ditched town, eager to leave the shadows of the past behind and start anew, but when his roommates move away and the money runs dry, he finds himself tossed back on his Ma's porch. Catapulted into the violent past he's tried so hard to flee from. The world's even more cruel than he remembers and no amount of whiskey can help him forget the memories he's built in Odelle. An unlikely friendship sparks a new outlook on his hometown as he re-discovers everything that built him, but can healing exist in such a broken world? Or is he too far down a dark path to turn around? Two people made of shattered remains, beaten down by life's trials, intersect on their journey toward a sense of meaning. Aces and Spades seamlessly blends past, present, and future and the threads in between that bind them all together.
