"A Night in Avignon" is an absorbing drama about the scholar and poet of early Renaissance Italy and one of the earliest humanists, Petrarch. It features his brother Gherardo, a monk. The sequence of events and the exchanges between the characters are presented beautifully, keeping the readers absorbed till the end.
