A Man with No Alibi recounts the story of a young man who embarks on an epic quest. In an age of unprecedented technological advancements, social upheaval, and moral turmoil, he sets out in search of those illusive eternal truths which transcend all times and spaces. From the outset, his perilous journey is beset with unexpected obstacles and difficult challenges, propelling him on a series of elaborate detours and colorful adventures. Along the way he is often distracted by various phenomena of human experience, by love and lust, wealth and poverty, politics and power, fame and failure. But through it all, over the course of many years, he stubbornly persists in his efforts to fulfill his mission and complete his quest.
The story is set in the contemporary, pre-apocalyptic America of the late twentieth and early twenty-first century, and though it is in one sense an acerbic and humorous commentary on modern society, it is also an intensely personal story of self-discovery and spiritual awakening. Despite the series of hardships and setbacks strewn along his path, the man refuses to be dissuaded, and over time, he slowly accumulates the hard-earned wisdom that enables him to begin to understand the purpose and meaning of human life.
The story is told with a disarming candor and a penetrating wit, rendering it easily accessible and continuously engaging. It is both entertaining and informative, and it is at times so funny that even the most humorless readers might find themselves laughing out loud. According to the author, "If you only read one book this year, then without question, this will be the best book you read all year."
