Author Ricky Merriman wrote the poems of “A Heartless World Is No World of Mine” with the goal of proving his value for himself. He spent years seeing his worth through the eyes of others but failed to offer the same kindness to himself. He sought other people's approval to the point that he forgot to seek his own. Now all he can do is fight towards self-improvement.
