Life inside the Conservation City walls is perfect. No crime. No disease. Society is perfectly structured. After the outbreak nearly brought humans to extinction, those who survived managed to make life better - with the help of advanced medical science from Volcan Enterprises. Jacob Anderson has grown up inside these walls. His life is normal. Sports. School. Hanging out with friends - sneaking over the walls to the Outside to find comic books and learn what kids did in the Old-World. Typical activities for someone about to turn eighteen. What isn't normal are Jacob's abilities and that his father insists he keeps them secret from everyone. After a tragic event takes his father's life, Jacob is approached by Victor Volcan, his dad's best friend, who introduces him to other humans with unique and miraculous abilities just like him. Suddenly, Jacob's normal life becomes anomalous as he unravels secrets about the world around him, about himself, and learns why his father insisted his abilities remained secret.
