Ahh, 21. That magical age when the red carpet rolls out and you arrive on the bar scene, full of anticipation to enter this previously forbidden world of boozy adventures...
There's no doubt that it's an exciting time in everyone's life, but what you may not know is that there is a specific set of often unspoken rules-rules that can determine whether your bartender serves you like you're just another face in the cattle-like crowd, or instead like you're a V.I.P., paving the way for amazing, unforgettable nights out with your friends.
Even if you're not a big drinker, chances are you'll spend at least some of your adult life in a bar. It's unavoidable-bars are the meetup spot of choice for birthdays, nights with friends, sporting events, holiday parties, corporate happy hours, and just about any other event you can imagine. Over my twenty-year career as a bartender serving people on these occasions, I've grown sick of watching them absolutely blow it. It's not their fault; they just don't have an easy way to learn. And that's where the idea for this book came from.
So, whether you're freshly 21 or know someone who will be, this is the PERFECT guide for learning everything there is to know about how to navigate bar life as a pro! You're just 147 pages away from transforming your bar experience...
From the back cover:
The most common misconception amongst rookie drinkers is that your basic presence in a bar makes you appear to be cooler and more mature. This couldn't be further from the truth. The reality is that it all comes down to how you handle yourself in the bar. Knowing how to correctly run a tab, the proper way to get a bartender's attention, the best drink to order based on which bar you're at, and what steps to take to make sure your transaction is processed as fast as possible is just the beginning of what separates an amateur from an ace.
Instead of continuing my existence as an old, jaded bartender that just rolls his eyes and begrudgingly serves you, I thought I'd take the time to put together a crash course in proper drinking and bar etiquette. In my twenty years of bar experience, I can tell you that those who get it always have better nights out than those who don't. So whether your purpose in going out is to have fun with friends, get laid, catch a major sporting event, or just to get your buzz on, it doesn't matter; after you've finished reading this book, your nights out will improve immensely.
So what are you waiting for? Your potential evolution from bar novice to bar master is just a book away...
