Hmong. It’s the name of a people — my people. As a daughter of Hmong refugees, I spent years asking myself questions about my origins. But to find out who I truly was, I first had to learn where my parents came from and how History (With a capital H) had led them to France. In this remarkable and unique graphic novel, debut comics creator Vicky Lyfoung celebrates the Hmong people and their perseverance in the face of war and displacement, a journey made deeply personal through her family’s search for a place to call home.
