With Jacob Hatfield and company trapped underground, the town thinks it is another fatal mining accident. But with Hatfield's inspiration, the trapped miners create a plan to escape from the Sheves, an earlier forgotten form of man. But will some of the miners, including Hatfield's father, be able to handle the "above world" after living in darkness for over 20 years?
