Pep Comic Issue 381 features the story "Archie and the Gang in Scoop Dupe". Left alone at the school paper, Reggie takes the opportunity to swap his interview assignment with Archie so he can interview a new all girl rock band, while Archie is stuck covering the opening of Miss Beazly's new salad bar. Did Reggie pick the better assignment? Other stories in this issue include "Mr. Weatherbee in Coach Reproach", "Charley and Li'l Jinx in Way to Go!", "Archie in Billion Dollar Taste", and more. Originally running from 1940 all the way into the '80s, PEP was the platform for Archie's first appearance in 1941 and introduced many of the Riverdale citizens that the world still follows over 80 years later.
