On a remote island, grief leaves a mark no tide can wash away. Ann Kinnear is no stranger to helping the living find peace with the dead-but a commission on a remote Maine island brings her into far more treacherous waters than she expects. Her task: deliver a husband's urgent message to his late wife, celebrated artist Allison Niedermeier. But in the solitude of Mizzen Island-where waves crash against the shore, secrets linger in the shadows, and grief has twisted into something darker-Ann soon realizes that the truth is far murkier than the story she has been told. When messages from beyond begin to surface in ways both eerie and undeniable, Ann must uncover what really happened on the night Allison disappeared … and decide how far she is willing to go to protect the living from the fallout of the dead. With its windswept island setting, haunting revelations, and taut emotional undercurrents, "Write in Water" is a suspenseful tale of love, betrayal, and the echoes that remain long after life's final brushstroke. An Ann Kinnear Suspense Short from Matty Dalrymple, author of the Ann Kinnear Suspense Novels, beginning with THE SENSE OF DEATH, and the Lizzy Ballard Thrillers.
