The Waiting

In the summer of 1928, sixteen-year-old Minka was looking forward to a class picnic. It was going to be a day to remember, but not in the way Minka had imagined. She was assaulted by a stranger in the woods. Minka still believed in the stork; she would not know for months that she was pregnant.
