The Tree That Tells a Tale is a book that tells the story of a tree that stands in the yard of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. It is the story of the bombing of that church during the height of the Civil Rights Era. The story is told by the tree's components: Barbara Branches, Bob Bark, Lucy Leaves, Linda Limb, Nelson Nest, Randy Roots, Sam Sap and Teresa Trunk.
