The Desolate Planet

Battered from the last mission, the Ultimo-1 saves itself with dwindling strength into the orbit of a still unexplored planet, which is said to have been approached by a Galactic Union ship 40 years ago. Indeed, the First Officer, Sherlock Holmes & Dr Watson find some wreckage and survivors of the mission there in a desert region. But these are not what they seem.
