The book consists of 120 chapters. The conception of "Outlaws of the Marsh" is quite different from that of the original, but the plot is not in conflict. In this ballad, in addition to the story of 108 generals in "Water Margin", many folk legends are added, such as "Wu Song made a big noise in Pingzuling" and "Shi Qian blazing temple", which is an extension and supplement of the original "Water Margin".
