However, when a failed attempt to steal a life-enhancing shew-stone results in the academy's janitor being found unconscious, all fingers of suspicion are misguidedly pointed in Jack's direction. What is really going on in this idyllic environment is a mystery that he must, at all costs, solve if he is to avoid ten years' incarceration in the dungeons of the Venetian Palace – and if The Isle of Magus is to be saved from outright tyranny.
