A brutal murder. A missing athlete. A detective with everything to prove…
Working his first homicide case since relocating from the United Kingdom, Detective Sergeant Jack Lisbon must prove he's got what it takes to perform in the heat of tropical Northern Australia.
A mutilated body washes up on the edge of a mangrove forest with wounds in keeping with a frenzied crocodile attack, which, to begin with, seems a straightforward incident-death by misadventure.
However, when Lisbon and his partner Detective Claudia Taylor investigate further, all signs point towards a premeditated, vicious murder. The case takes another sinister turn when a champion athlete vanishes, forcing the police to consider the possibility of a double homicide.
As the list of suspects grows, the detectives find themselves up against a wall of silence in the tight-knit community of Yorkville-no one wants to talk, and the killer remains elusive.
With time running out, can Lisbon rise to the challenge and bring the perpetrator to justice?
Kill Shot is the gripping first installment of Blair Denholm's The Fighting Detective series, a gritty, hard-boiled Australian police procedural that will keep readers guessing until the very end.
