In 1998, The Uninvited were poised to become the next multi-platinum darlings of the new millennia. With a hit song burning up the charts and a major label release described as "The breakthrough album of the next decade," everything was teed-up for a life of sold-out arenas, gold plated Ferraris and Dom Perrion on draft. But the chances are you never heard of The Uninvited – so what the hell happened? THE UNINVITED: ON THE ROAD WITH THE GREATEST ROCK BAND YOU NEVER HEARD is the story of 5 friends stuffed in a van on a Homer-esque nationwide odyssey, clinging desperately to a gossamer thread of one-hit-wonder fame while sharing the stage with legends like Cheap Trick, Blues Traveler, The Violent Femmes, Chris Isaak, and many more. For two sweat-drenched and mind-altering years, The Uninvited had fame by the tender bits and squeezed hard. And for Steve, just when it looked like life couldn't get any better, it did; Mia, so achingly unattainable for so many years, landed squarely in the attainable category. But all these dreams collided in a rush to come true, threatening to unravel everything, just when he held it all in his hand. THE UNINVITED is a chaotic tale set in the early days of Napster and the last days of Warehouse Records on Sunset Blvd. It's a memoir for anyone who's ever cranked the volume up on Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins, or stood in the audience singing their lungs out, and wondering what life is like on the other side of that stage. Unlike any other rock memoir, THE UNINVITED chronicles the harrowing sacrifice necessary to attain a dream – and more importantly, what it takes to let it go. And there was a gnome, too. He was kind of an asshole.
