"This is one creepy tale of cannibalism, made palatable by terrific narrators who capture the characters and the urgency of the plot. André Santana has an outsize role as Dante, the central character and first-person narrator who struggles with his own morality and cowardice. Childhood friends Dante, Piglet, Miguel, and Hugo have left their provincial town for Rio de Janeiro, where they share an apartment. But cash is short and, when Piglet comes up with a bizarre idea to cater high-end dinner parties where "seagull meat"-human flesh-is served, it turns out everyone wants a piece of both the meat and the money. What happens as the secret gets out and thuggish characters take over becomes the focus of this thriller.
The premise is absurd, but the plot unfolds so seamlessly that the listener is drawn in."
