Before she was a legend… she was running for her life.
In the shadows of a divided cult, a prophecy whispers of salvation. The White Raven-chosen by the Goddess of Death-is destined to lead her people into prosperity. But when doubt creeps into the ranks, faith turns to suspicion… and suspicion to betrayal.
Reedsong was born into that prophecy.
Daughter of the Cult of the Raven's leader, her fate was never her own. Raised to become something she may not even be, she lives beneath the weight of expectation-and the quiet fear that she will never measure up.
When the cult begins to question whether she is truly the White Raven, the cracks begin to show. Loyalties fracture. Trust dissolves. And Reedsong realizes the truth:
If she stays… she loses herself.
So she runs.
From her name.
From her past.
From the destiny chosen for her.
But freedom comes with a cost.
Hunted by the very people who raised her, Reedsong must carve out a life in hiding-one shaped by fear, survival, and the hope that she can become something more than what she was told to be.
Set long before the events of Shattered Peace, The Runaway is a gripping, character-driven fantasy that follows Reed's journey from hunted girl to hardened survivor… and the first steps toward the legend she will become.
You don't need to know what comes next to feel the weight of where she began.
