After walking away from a high-powered corporate career in Manhattan, thirty-six-year-old David retreats to an isolated cabin in Colorado's San Juan Mountains, hoping silence will cure the burnout that has consumed him. Instead, he discovers that escaping his old life is easier than learning how to live without control. When he turns to beekeeping for purpose, David approaches the hive with the same obsessive precision that once ruled his career. But the bees refuse to follow spreadsheets, forecasts, or commands. Through fear, failure, changing seasons, and the patient rhythm of the colony, David gradually learns to surrender control, trust the natural world, and rediscover a quieter, more meaningful way of living.
