A collection of profound meditations on morality, life and death, from one of the primary proponents of ancient Stoic philosophy: Seneca.
Despite having been written at the turn of the earliest millennium, Seneca's 'On' essays remain extraordinary in their offer of insightful wisdom and practical advice on how to live a life worth living. Including writings on anger, providence, peace of mind, the shortness of life, grief and more, Seneca's words are unparalleled in their perceptiveness – so much so that they remain relevant even today. This audiobook edition is beautifully narrated by Malk Williams. Seneca (4 – 65 AD) was a Stoic philosopher, dramatist and statesman. Trained in rhetoric and philosophy, he became advisor to Roman emperor, Nero, until he was accused of plotting to assassinate him. He was executed via forced suicide, but his literary works – largely considered staple texts for ancient Stoicism – still live on today.
