Romance novelist Monica is in crisis. Her latest book was a flop, her relationship has failed, and an obsessive fan is threatening her.
Monica needs a change of scenery and a steady income to eliminate her financial worries. Since she previously worked as a personal assistant, it seems like the obvious choice. She gets the job and celebrates with her friend Addison at a bar. And promptly ends up in bed with an attractive stranger...
On her first day at work comes the shock: The stranger turns out to be her new boss, the incredibly wealthy Troy Gunner, who is accustomed to getting what he wants-in business and with women. He particularly enjoys seducing his assistants, and this one is exactly to his taste-and the first one he's already bedded outside the office.
But nobody can find out about this. Especially not Troy's father, who always threatens to disinherit him at the next scandal. So Troy tries to keep Monica at a distance and pretend nothing happened. But it doesn't end there: Troy takes what he wants. And that's Monica. In his office.
But then his dark past catches up with him, shaking Monica to her core. And that's not all: his ex also seems to be playing a role in his life again.
