About

The book "Sarbat Da Bhala" is written by Prof Sahib Singh Ji, a well-known scholar from the UK, an expert in Gurbani interpretation, and a respected commentator of Sikh scriptures. He was one of the leading figures of the Sikh missionary movement and is widely known for writing a detailed commentary on Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. He was also a scholar of Gurbani and Sikh history. Professor Sahib Singh Ji served as a teacher in different educational institutions and also provided important services in the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). During his lifetime, he wrote around 30 books, including works on the commentary of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Gurbani grammar, Sikh history, and various essays. His main areas of work were Sikhism, Gurbani commentary, and Gurbani grammar. In recognition of his contribution, Punjabi University, Patiala, awarded him an honorary D.Litt. degree and also invited him to teach at the university. This book contains around nine essays related to the history of Sikhism and Gurbani grammar. These essays present the philosophy of Gurbani and the principles of Gurmat thought in a very clear and honest way. The author also examines many popular historical stories that have become part of Sikh history over time. By using the teachings of Gurbani as the main reference, he questions and analyzes these stories. Through Gurbani references and historical evidence, the author tries to present the correct understanding of Sikh history and Gurbani philosophy to the readers.
