Sometimes lightning strikes when you least expect it.
Alice: Jacob Gibson is an annoying know-it-all from a family of rich snobs. He also happens to be my best friend's other best friend. Now we're the co-captains of her wedding party, and everyone says we need to move past our differences and get along. Impossible, obviously. He's never even acknowledged what he and his friends did to me back in high school. How am I supposed to forget? Besides, with a literal hurricane about to blow through North Bay, the wedding might be on pause. Jake and I were only supposed to be gone for an hour running last-minute errands for our mutual bestie. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans.
Jake: All I did was offer to pick up a few cupcakes before the storms rolled in. Alice didn't have to tag along. No one twisted her arm. But Alice Caulfield is a bossy little tyrant who doesn't trust me to do anything right, so it's no surprise she wouldn't let me handle this on my own. It's not my fault they closed the bridge before we could get back. Now I have no choice but to ride out the storm with the one woman in the world who wants to be trapped here with me even less than I want to be stuck with her.
