In Rediscovering Wisdom - The Forgotten Gift, Marius Botha (an experienced insurtech and financial services executive, as well as actuary and pastor in Johannesburg, South Africa) highlights how mainstream Christian culture under-appreciates divinely inspired wisdom. His book serves as a comprehensive Biblical guide that aims to enlighten and revive Christians on the various expressions of wisdom and how to live wisely. He offers insight's on Jesus's embodiment of wisdom, the Holy Spirit gift of the word of wisdom and why its a critical ministry for churches, practical guidelines on how to make sound decisions when balancing the gift of faith and wisdom, and does a deep-dive into the manifestation of wisdom in the Old Testament and its relevance for discipleship today. He interweaves personal testimonies from the business and church environments, as well as difficult seasons in his life, and challenges the reader to speak truth to power when confronted with foolishness. He also challenges the reader to confront their own foolish ways, and pleads for a healthy recognition of the gift of wisdom alongside other ministry gifts. He summarises protocols for ministering in the gift of the word of wisdom, why it needs to be done with Christlike love as guide, and how to restore redeemed decision-making through the power of the Holy Spirit. He narrated the Audio-book version himself.
