When self-centered Eva Wilder discovers her estranged sister in a line of prisoners, the only way she can atone for the past is to help Joanna or die trying. But does she have what it takes?
She has never made good decisions. A rebel boyfriend. An unsanctioned pregnancy. A loveless marriage in a tiny seaside town. But her world is turned upside down when vampire overseers execute her commissioner husband for treason. Eva is thrown out of her lavish home and stripped of everything. She has nowhere to go but a shack on the beach. There she finds a shipwreck victim, who has come from abroad to kill the vampires of Londo City, including the devil who killed her husband. Will she help him?
Eva flat out refuses. She is done with risky decisions - and men.
But as Eva waits for the train back to Londo City, she recognizes her estranged sister in a line of prisoners. She knows the horrible fate her sister will face, and all because of her own rash decisions long ago. Eva has to do something. But what? Stay and rescue Joanna? Ask the vampire killer for help? They could all die...
This could be the chance to redeem herself - or her worst decision ever.
