Considering my suicide, I stared out a window in Maryland and saw that rain blurred colors in a parking lot. The shame of being sexually abused caused recurring nightmares, and a life that became a complex facade of covers, military titles and secrets never told. In this book, published poet and author Adam Volant shares his own testimony of brokenness and success, rising from childhood abuse to flag officer in the military's most specialized cyber operations. Centered on a poem written in the depth of his darkness, this honest portrayal illuminates a hurt that many harbor inside. After years of attempting to cover, reconcile, and cope with years of abuse, frail lies tied to alcohol and drugs pointed to his death. Reading No More Secrets will help unravel how horrible things can be used to draw us nearer to a more important truth.
