In a city drowned in neon light, something is feeding. Lucas Benítez is a photographer obsessed with long exposure - capturing the hidden architecture of light in a city that never sleeps. But when his images begin revealing strange, shadow-like forms that shouldn't exist, he realizes his camera is seeing more than reality… it's exposing it. At first, they look like digital noise. Glitches. Artifacts. Mistakes. But they appear again. And again. Always where the light is strongest. Neon streets. Crowded nightclubs. Endless hospital corridors bathed in sterile white. As Lucas spirals into insomnia, obsession, and altered perception, a terrifying pattern begins to emerge: these entities are not errors - they are parasites, feeding on human activity and thriving in artificial light. The brighter the city burns, the more they grow. Now, caught between revelation and madness, Lucas must confront an impossible question: Is he uncovering a hidden ecosystem living inside modern light… or losing his mind to the very system he's trying to expose? A haunting blend of techno-thriller, psychological horror, and neo-noir science fiction, Neon Parasites explores the dark side of urban life, perception, and the invisible systems that feed on us in a world that never turns off. Perfect for readers who love urban horror, mind-bending sci-fi, slow-burn thrillers, and dark atmospheric fiction.
