Two weeks before he intends to slowly and sadistically kill his prey, Loverboy sends a collage of the future crime scene to the FBI. If the federal agents are able to decode the collage in time, they can prevent Loverboy's next ferocious slaying. He feels that's more than fair: It's not Loverboy's fault the FBI have already failed five times. FBI agent Imogen Page is armed with an exceptional ability in the world of criminology: The mingling of her senses make her acutely aware of patterns others might not sense. This keen sense for detection, however, also makes Imogen unusually empathetic. Determined to rescue Loverboy's latest catch, Imogen's cognitive gifts now put her in grave danger: for as she races against the clock in this hunt for a cruel killer, Imogen Page has excited the imagination of a monstrous mind.
