It's the end of the millennium and death is on the horizon. American writer Samson Young absconds to England with a terminal illness and a bad case of writer's block, his flight across the Atlantic a last-ditch attempt to find a good story before it's too late. What he discovers, in a dark corner of the Black Cross Pub, is Nicola Six: beautiful, tragic, and destined to be murdered on her 35th birthday.
London Fields follows Nicola and Sam across the backrooms of a bleak and degenerate London, where any one of Nicola's suitors could become her killer. With burrowing twists and characteristic acidity, Martin Amis balances humor, darkness, and suspense in an erotic thriller for the ages.
