Inukshuk follows the evolution of a chronic alcoholic as he discovers the meaning of real sobriety through working the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. His experiences over the first 16 months of his abstinence as well as the guidance provided by his AA sponsor and the other members of his home group provide detailed explanations of the application, purpose and benefits of working the steps. If you think you have a drinking problem, are a recovering alcoholic/addict or know someone in recovery, you may find Inukshuk both entertaining and very helpful. Or if you have just wondered what all the fuss was about with respect to the Twelve Steps, you're in luck. This is a compendium of AA wisdom gleaned from over forty years of continuous sobriety and presented in a relatable narrative following a man who is so much like so many AA members in so many ways. Right now you're reading this description because you are looking for something new in an audiobook. This guy's shenanigans are nothing if not entertaining and it contains a powerful message about the value of personal development to boot. It lasts longer and costs less then a bender. You'll remember where you were when you read it, and you won't be left with feelings of guilt and remorse when it is over. Dr. Hayes earned his Ph.D. in Audiology from the University of Cincinnati in 2002. He has been clean and sober since Christmas day, 1980 while maintaining regular contact with his friends in Alcoholics Anonymous. Easy Does It....... But Do It.
