Reverend Herbert F. Smith is a noted theologian, author, and scholar. Hidden Victory, an internationally best-selling novel, has been published in numerous countries around the world. For this work, Smith engaged in extensive research and lived in the Holy Land while he wrote the first draft. A historical novel of Jesus' life, Hidden Victory can be approached as revelation, as history, and as adventure. Solidly rooted in the four gospels, it also draws on contemporary theological studies of Christ. Historically based details of Biblical culture mix with fictional conversations and minor characters to create a full panorama of the world Jesus inhabited. Saint John described Jesus as a rich mine of treasures. This novel does indeed dig deep into the character of Christ. From the opening chapter, as Jesus contemplates death, to the final powerful image, Hidden Victory puts the listener by Jesus' side as he fulfills his Father's will on earth.
