In 'Hi, It's Me Helen,' Templin opens the door to her life with honesty, heart, and remarkable courage. From the earliest memories of growing up in a military household filled with instability and silence, to the difficult years of adolescence marked by neglect, abuse, and disappointment, Helen shares her story without filters. What unfolds is a human portrait of a girl forced to grow up too soon, navigating survival in a world that rarely felt safe. Through jobs taken too early, a school life cut short, and the pressure of becoming a caretaker before she was ready, Templin finds ways to keep moving-sometimes with grit, sometimes with humor, and often with nothing but determination. Her adulthood brings its own trials, from a troubled marriage to the challenges of single motherhood, and a relationship that promised healing but delivered heartbreak. But within every chapter of loss and hardship, there is also strength, resolve, and the quiet but steady search for peace. She doesn't ask for pity. She offers something far more valuable: truth, resilience, and hope. This memoir is for anyone who has ever felt unseen, unheard, or underestimated. 'Hi, It's Me Helen' is a powerful reminder that even in the darkest moments, the human spirit can find its voice.
