How Do You Protect Your Marriage from the Temptations Surrounding You?
You set boundaries, or as long-married, bestselling author Jerry Jenkins says, "I plant hedges." Jenkins shares a list he created and adheres to as a gift of love for his wife. These rules are intended to protect his marriage by guarding his eyes, his heart, and his hands.
But if you truly love your wife, why do you need hedges? Current statistics show the sad reality. Divorce rates continue to climb―even for Christian marriages. Jenkins candidly shares, "I have planted hedges around myself to protect me, my wife, my family, my employer, my church, and supremely, the reputation of Christ. I share them not to boast, but to admit that I'm fleeing and in the hope that they might be of some benefit to you."
