Travel back in time a billion years to Hawksbill Station -- twice.
Join in this haunting tale of time travel, loss, betrayal, and redemption through both versions of Silverberg's Hawksbill Station in the same volume. Includes the original novella and full-length novel versions of 'Hawksbill Station' plus an introduction and afterword, describing how each version came to be written.
Jim Barrett, once the leader of an underground movement bent on toppling America's corrupt totalitarian government, finds himself a political prisoner exiled to Hawksbill Station, a male-only penal colony established on the barren landscape of the late Cambrian period East Coast of America. Now a crippled old man and the camp's de facto ruler, Barrett struggles as all the others against their lonely existence, but finds the camp's newest arrival resurrecting old memories of his revolutionary past.
