Sometimes it's not even your own ghosts that come back to haunt you. Just when Everly Dupree thinks she's put all her spectral problems to rest, her mother becomes the prime suspect in a psychic's murder. When elderly resident Baxter Thomas vanishes from Mooselick River's assisted living facility, renowned psychic Davina Benet swoops into town offering her expertise. As a specialist in finding missing persons, Davina promises quick results-until she turns up dead before her search can begin. The main suspect? Kitty Dupree, Everly's mother, who made no secret of her grudge against the self-proclaimed medium. With the sheriff eyeing her family and a ghost who's surprisingly tight-lipped, Everly must unravel decades-old secrets if she wants to clear her mother's name and help Davina cross into the light. But digging into Kitty's past reveals family skeletons better left buried. Between finding missing Baxter, solving Davina's murder, and uncovering what her mother's been hiding all these years, Everly's hands are fuller than a cemetery on Halloween night. After all, the dead may tell no tales-but family secrets have a way of refusing to stay buried.
