Frank Flanders is a man who keeps his own company and trusts the mountains more than men. Alone except for his loyal mule, Frank spends his days panning cold creeks and following the faint glimmer of gold dust in the wild hills. But out here, where the silence is deep and old camps fade into memory, fortune is measured in more than gold. In the shadow of the mountains, Frank learns what it means to belong-to the land, to the work, and to himself.
