The first in a new crime series from indigenous, veteran author David Tromblay, featuring Native American bounty hunter Moses Kincaid, who races across Oklahoma to find his man, but finds himself deep undercover in the state's supermax prison to bust a drug ring.

Moses Kincaid, a Native American bounty hunter, served in the US Army in Desert Storm and Haiti. Now, to pay the bills, he's taken to tracking down wanted criminals in and around Kansas City.



Unaware, he has no authority to chase a man-on-the-run across state lines, Moses scours the Oklahoma map for the man who ran down two members of the Filthy 13 motorcycle gang and didn't look back. But with the aftermath of the Oklahoma City Bombing still unfolding on the nightly news, locals don't look upon new faces kindly. The Anadarko County Sherrif's Department, the man's friends and family all prove to be a series of dead ends, until a waitress offers a helping hand-and a chance at something more.



After accidentally bringing in the bounty dead, Moses must face the consequences of his actions. He has no choice but to go undercover in prison to track down the source of a new drug targeting violent criminals-and hope he doesn't wind up sharing their fate. David Tromblay served in both the United States Army and Navy before he earned an MFA in creative writing from the Institute of American Indian Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His memoir As You Were was named one of the Best Nonfiction Books of 2021 by Kirkus Reviews. He now lives in rural eastern Oklahoma with giant dogs and tiny goats.
