There haven't always been planes in the sky. Planes are frequent sights in our skies today. In the early years of the 20th century they were new, exciting – dangerous even. Betty Greene was one of the early women to learn to fly these amazing new machines. After World War 2, Betty helped to set up an organisation that used aircraft to support mission work – she was the first pilot for Mission Aviation Fellowship. In Latin America, Africa and Irian Jaya, Betty Greene flew her aircraft with courage and skill, all the while trusting God to keep her and her passengers safe. The Trailblazer series collects great stories from Christians of the past and delivers them to the young people of today. This gripping and astonishing story from Irene Howat will challenge young readers to trust God as Betty Greene did. Irene Howat is an award–winning author and poet who lives in Scotland. She has published many biographical books for all ages and is particularly well–known for her biographical material. She has written many books about the lives of different Christians from around the world. She has also written an autobiographical work entitled 'Pain My Companion'.
