Japan surrendered in defeat and a large number of ordinary Japanese nationals who immigrated to northeast China were abandoned. Dohe, a 16-year-old girl, was one of them. In her escape, she escaped death by relying on her wit and instinctive desire for life. She was packed into sacks and sold to Zhang Jian, the second son of a station master in a small northeast railway station, as a "tool" for giving birth. Zhang Jian's elder brother was reportedly killed by the Japanese for resisting Japan. Zhang Jian's wife Zhu Xiaohuan lost her baby due to the fright of the Japanese devils and was unable to have children ever since. Against the background of hatred between enemies of the country, the involvement of Dojo, a young Japanese girl, has made the whole family's relationship ambiguous and strange.
