Step into history with Zeynep, Tolga, and their clever crow friend, Kara. When the siblings discover a mysterious Time Compass, it whirs to life and opens a doorway to Türkiye's most transformative years under Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the father of the Turkish Nation.
Their first stop is 1925, where they witness the Clothing Reform reshaping daily life. Streets fill with new styles and modern ideas, and the children learn how outward change can reflect a forward-looking mind. The compass then carries them to 1928, the year of the Alphabet Reform. In bustling classrooms and lamplit courtyards, they see how a new writing system helps more people read, learn, and share knowledge. Finally, they arrive in 1934, when women gain the right to vote and be elected. Through conversations with families and community leaders, Zeynep and Tolga discover how participation and voice strengthen a nation.
Guided by curiosity and courage, the trio connects big reforms to everyday moments that kids understand, such as getting dressed for school, sounding out letters, and making choices that matter. Along the way, they see that these changes were not accidents, but the result of vision, planning, and leadership, and that Atatürk's reforms were designed to build a modern, educated, and inclusive society.
This richly illustrated adventure blends story and history to spark questions and pride. With a glossary, discussion prompts, and creative activities, it invites families and classrooms to explore the past and imagine the future, one turn of the Time Compass at a time.
